Internal change management – the client must take responsibility for ensuring that all their colleagues, employees and stakeholders are engaged and aware of what is happening and the reasons for why it is happening.
Data – rubbish data will result in your employees getting paid incorrectly. For me it is not clear how many of the client’s employees will work for free or for the wrong pay. So this is vital that the client has perfect data and can easily provide it to the payroll provider in the required format on the agreed deadlines.
Requirements – if the client does not know what company rules govern how their employees are paid then they will be paid wrong. For example, is there overtime, seniority pay, bonus, salary bands, maternity leave, paternity leave, holiday allowance, pension, collective bargaining agreements, stock options etc. The payroll provider will be able to outline the legal requirements but only the client knows the company’s requirements and policies. Therefore these must be known and provided in the required format on the deadline set by the provider.
