From the Tim Ferriss podcast with Brian Koppelman

This was an interesting point about feedback that I noted down from the podcast.

When someone asks him to give feedback on a piece of work he asks – “is this the final version?”

If yes, then the feedback that he gives is just to say “well done”. As you cannot do anymore on it.

If it is not the final version then he asks, “what kind of feedback do you want?”

Peer feedback is harsh and does not focus on what you did well. You have to take action on the feedback so if the person asks for feedback then they actually must action the feedback. If not then there is no point in asking for it or giving it.
