Definition – Parallel Test

A parallel test is where 2 systems (current and future) are compared side by side.

For a parallel test, the same data must be used in both systems. Then the results are compared side by side and the results should be identical or if they are not then the results are at least explainable.

A parallel test is done after UAT is 100% completed.
